Presentations

Improv Story Time (K-5th) 30-45 minutes

Rachel reads one of her books and shares some behind the scenes secrets. Then, with the help of volunteers from the audience, she creates an original story including a large sketch of the main character. (Optional Q&A)

The Artist Life & Creative Art Journaling (6th Grade+) 1 hr.

Rachel explores what it takes to be a professional artist and engages students in a creative art journaling workshop. As a creative, it’s important to have a safe outlet to generate new ideas. Creative art journaling is a fun, therapeutic way for a student to hone their creative style.

Rachel is a former art teacher who loves to share her passion for picture books through creative and interactive sessions. Rachel is happy to adjust her programs to meet your school or library’s needs – just drop her a line and ask! All presentations can be done in-person or virtually via Zoom.

“A 3rd grade teacher shared that her class was SO excited to begin drawing their own characters and writing about them, just like you showed during your visit!  You certainly inspired them to be author/illustrators today!” -Sarah O’Connor, Librarian
